Royal Zara Phillips doesn’t hold an aristocratic title, but a little girl clearly thought she deserved one as she handed her a sparkly sticker that said “Today I feel like a princess.”
Zara, who is 16th-in-line to the throne was presented with the Little Miss Princess sticker by two-year-old Matilda Wren at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials in Stamford, Lincolnshire.
The 34-year-old, who has previously competed in the four-day event, was judging the picnic competition and was seen tucking in to fancy cakes, pies and wine.
She met little Matilda, from Lincolnshire, when she stopped to judge a picnic entry and sat next to her and some other children in the back of a Land Rover.
Zara, whose daughter Mia is 20 months old, seemed delighted with the sticker, which the little girl carefully stuck on her navy blue Land Rover jacket. The sticker featured the Little Miss Princess character, which appears in the 34th book in the popular Little Miss series.
Zara’s husband, former rugby player Mike Tindall, was not at the event, but instead she was accompanied by ex-England rugby player Martin Corry, who helped judge the picnic contest. They visited six different picnic displays and had to judge the food and the table setting.
Zara won an Olympic silver medal during the London 2012 Games and hopes to compete in the Rio Olympics next year with her horse High Kingdom.
