Green was seen chatting to his pretty Filipino girlfriend as he resumed his role as Detective Geordie Keating in the 1950s crime-drama. Zoila, who was wearing denim shorts and a white shirt and had her dark hair in a plait, watched as he filmed scenes in the village of Grantchester in Cambridgeshire. The pair are believed to have met at a gym in Newcastle, near Green’s home, two years ago when Zoila was married to Reverend Geoffrey Short.
She is believed to have left her husband, with whom she has two children, and moved in with Green. She had previously been married to Rev Short for 16 years. The pair smiled and laughed together as Green took time out with Zoila in between takes. At one point he was seen tenderly wiping her hair out of her eyes. Earlier Green was seen joking with actor Tom Brittney, who has taken over from James Norton as the new vicar of Grantchester in the popular series. The pair were seen collapsing into fits of giggles as they shared a joke on set.
Filming of the series has been taking place over the last couple of months. Returning members of Grantchester’s cast this season include Al Weaver and Kacey Ainsworth, who plays Geordie’s wife. The series is adapted from the Grantchester Mysteries novels by James Runcie and was developed for television by Daisy Coulam.
