A photographer has captured the moment 46ft high waves struck Eshaness on the Shetland Islands.
Ryan Sandison took photos of the enormous waves hitting the coast of Eshaness, in the north-west of the islands, after Storm Connor hit Scotland on Boxing Day. Shetland was battered by gusts of up to 94mph, as well as rain, sleet, hail and snow. The Met Office put an amber weather warning in place for Shetland, whilst the north-west and north-east of England saw gusts of up to 60mph.
