A photographer has taken stunning photos of the Red Arrows practicing in the skies as the sun set.
Claire Hartley took pictures of the planes flying over their base at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire as they returned to training after their Christmas break. The smoke from the planes was lit up by the sunset as they soared through the air. Other pictures show the Red Arrows loping over the smoke trails from passing airliners.
Claire, 38, who lives near the base and spends her spare time photographing the planes, said: “It was their second day of training after the Christmas break, prior to that they had been out of the country on tour for a couple of months.”
