The luscious lawns of the historic Cambridge Backs are looking dry and brown as Britain continues to swelter in a heatwave.

The Cambridge University college lawns are normally green and immaculate, but weeks of hot weather have seen them turn into bowls of dust.

Aerial pictures taken by drone show how the green stripy lawns are now brown and drab.

It comes after Britain has seen weeks of blazing temperatures and hardly any rain, with the heatwave looking to continue into August. A warning has now been issued for a possible hosepipe ban in Cumbria in north-west England.
