Tourists sheltered under umbrellas as they went punting on the River Cam in Cambridge as Storm Antoni is set to bring strong 60mph winds and rain for many this weekend.

Many wrapped up in raincoats as the historic city was hit by heavy downpours this morning, with more bad weather on the way tomorrow, according to the Met Office.

490 3 Storm Antoni Daily ExpressA low-pressure system will bring strong winds and a spell of heavy rain to England from late tonight, with a yellow weather warning for wind in place for southern and western parts of Wales, the southwest of England, as well as a large stretch of the south coast of England. Northern Ireland will be the first to see the influence of this low-pressure system, with a warning for rain in force from the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Met Office Chief Meteorologist Steve Willington said: “Storm Antoni will bring some potentially disruptive weather on Saturday as it moves from west to east.
