A 102-year-old woman former WREN has become Britain’s oldest skydiver.
Manette Baillie, from Suffolk, jumped out of a plane at 7,000 feet this morning to celebrate her milestone birthday. She made the impressive leap over Beccles Airfield in East Anglia to raise money for charities, including the East Anglian Air Ambulance, the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Benhall Village Hall.
Manette served in the WRENS in Egypt during the Second World War and is known for being a thrill seeker in her later years.
She drove a Ferrari racing car at 130mph to mark her 100th birthday.
She told Radio 4 this morning: “I don’t do fear it’s no good.”
