Claire Hartley has picked a selection of her favourite plane pictures to feature in the £16 calendar, which is raising money for the Mark Long Trust.
Squadron Leader Mark Long died in May last year when Spitfire Mk IX MK356, which he was flying, crashed in a field shortly after take-off from RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire. At the time of his death, Sqn Ldr Long was in his fourth season with the BBMF and Spitfire TE311 was the aircraft he flew the most.
The first page in the calendar is a TE311 in Mark Long’s livery as a tribute to him. Other photos include the BBMF Lancaster flying at sunset, the Red Arrows flying in front of the moon and the magnificent Bristol Boxkite, which is based at The Shuttleworth Collection in Biggleswade.
Another image shows the Red Arrows performing their famous Tornado move at Eastbourne Airshow, whilst another picture features the Lancaster flying over a battle field at this year’s Victory Show in Cosby.
